Discovery Gateway Children's Museaum Passes on Sale Now!

I am always trying to find fun places to bring my little 2 year old, especially during the cold winter months.  The Children's Museum at the Gateway in Salt Lake is perfect!  My little boy would spend the whole time playing with the water and the balls that they have there.  Right now they have their membership passes on sale. 

When I researched this last year I found that the best deal was to get the 6 person pass, but to share it with someone.  Well I found that you can share it with 3 people!  They will add another cardholder onto the membership for only $10.  You can check out all the prices and membership choices here.  I am going to do the 6 person year pass and me and 2 of my friends are going in on it.  That way it will be $148 ($10 added with the 3rd person).  So it will only be about $50 each for the full year!  Awesome!  The sale goes until January 31st.

Macys: One Day Sale - Plus $10.00 off $25 purchase!

Hi Friends,
First of all, thanks for still following this blog!  I started this blog because I have a passion for saving money and couponing.  I love it!  But as you can see my posts have dropped in number over the past 10 months.  I was so enthusiastic to keep this going strong, but once my pregnancy sickness kept me on the couch, I stopped blogging. 
Now, that my little baby is 6 weeks old, I am getting more and more alive.  I will be once again posting any good deals that I see, but it will still be at random times.  I also, along with Katie, will be posting yummy recipes on a budget.

And here we go...  :)

I love going to consignment events!  I always leave with great stuff, at a great price.  I have been to Just Between Friends Events many times, and I love it!  If you need any type of baby/kids item or maternity item, then this is the place for you.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a double stroller!!

Brazillian Lemonade

Ingredients:
4 juicy limes with thin skins
1 C sugar
6 C cold water
6 T sweetened condensed milk

Directions:
1. Mix cold water and sugar until dissolved and set aside.
2. Wash limes with soap. Cut off both ends of limes and slice into four chunks.
3. Place 1/2 of the limes in the blender with 1/2 sugar water and pulse 5 times.
4. Pour mix into a fine mesh strainer over pitcher that you will use. Use a spoon and mash down till you get most of the juice out. Discard the pulp. Repeat with the rest of the limes and sugar mix.
5. Add sweetened condensed milk. You might need to add more milk/sugar depending on taste.
6. Serve immediately over ice.

Belgium Waffles

Ingredients:

• 2 cups cake flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 4 large eggs, separated
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
• 2 cups milk
• non-stick cooking spray

Directions:
1. Preheat iron.
2. In a medium bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt.
3. In second bowl combine and beat egg yolk (don't throw away white) & sugar until sugar is dissolved and eggs are a pale yellow.
4. Add vanilla, melted butter and milk to eggs and mix. Then combine with flour mixture. Don't over mix!
5. in a 3rd bowl beat egg whites until they form soft peaks. Then gently fold into waffle batter.
6. Coat waffle iron with cooking spray and pour batter into iron. Cook until golden brown.
7. Top with syrup, berries or any other toppings you would like. I used homemade raspberry jam and topped with whipped cream.

Grilled Corn 2 Ways

Whenever I go to Lagoon I always see people walking around eating grilled corn and have always wanted to try it without paying $5 for ONE ear of corn. So there are 2 different ways to achieve this. First always soak your corn 30 minutes before grilling!

Directions:
1. Liberally coat corn with olive oil. Use your hands to really make sure it's all over kernels.
2. Sprinkle with salt, pepper or other seasonings.
3. Place directly on grill and continually turn. It will take about 15 minutes. If you have a upper rack it's best place for it.

Grilled corn in Foil Directions:
1. Lay corn on piece of heavy duty foil. If you don't have heavy duty then do 2 layers of foil.
2. Rub butter over corn and sprinkle with seasonings.
3. Securely seal foil on ends and sides. You will need to rotate it so make sure it's sealed.
4. Place on medium heated grill and rotate every 5 minutes for about 15-20 minutes.
